Harrell W. Chesson is a health economist in the Division of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Chesson earned his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990 and his PhD in economics from Duke University in 1996. His research has focused on the impact and cost-effectiveness of STD prevention programs and policies, as well as health disparities and burden of disease.
